DUT’S PROF ROSS COVID-19 PAPER LISTED ON WHO WEBSITE
Congratulations to the Durban University of Technology’s (DUT’s) Interim Executive Dean: Faculty of Health Sciences, Professor Ashley Ross who recently had the COVID-19 case analysis paper that he had published together with his international colleagues listed on the World Health Organisation (WHO) website.
Prof Ross has made DUT proud as his name is listed on the WHO website, amongst health experts from across the globe who wrote the topical paper entitled: Data Collection during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Learning from Experience, Resulting in Bayesian Repertory.
CELE AIMS TO INSPIRE AND IMPACT LIVELIHOODS OF YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH RESEARCH
The Durban University of Technology’s (DUT’s) Philisiwe Charity Cele, was recently awarded for her outstanding presentation at the recent Data Awards ceremony, on how data is being used to transform DUT in line with Envision 2030.
The award was given in recognition of the best presentation in the Perspective of the Sustainability award: Statutory Reporting Data: DUT Research Outputs.
Cele, who has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from MANCOSA, is a Research Administrator, coordinating statutory reporting function of research data at DUT.
COMMITTEE ON WORLD FOOD SECURITY DISCUSS WAYS TO ADDRESS CLIMATE CHALLENGE
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) was among the universities who were invited to attend an international webinar on Transforming Agricultural Innovations for People, Nature and Climate via Zoom on Tuesday, 8 February 2021.
This webinar was part of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) 47 side event to identify the gaps on how they can meet the climate challenge and to discuss ways to address gaps in order to drive transformative change through the United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS) and COP26. It presented the latest evidence on the challenges and opportunities in scaling approaches that are proven to work, building on innovations and demand-driven solutions.
ALUMNUS NGCOBO COMPLETES HIS STUDIES DESPITE COVID-19 CHALLENGES
“It does not matter whether you are from the village or township, if you have a vision of what you want to do, you can do it, all you need is focus, dedication and be willing to work hard,” said the jubilant Nhlakanipho Goodman Ngcobo.
The former Durban University of Technology (DUT) student has just completed and graduated from the University of Pecs, Hungary in Europe; as a qualified Economist in Management and Leadership.
In 2018, Ngcobo graduated Cum laude Bachelor of Technology Degree in Business Administration and in 2019 he was awarded the DUT Golden Key International Honour Society for being the Best Student.
