Newsletter Chairman’s Note
Dear Members and Friends of ESCL,

Covid 19 continues to be a huge challenge in virtually all of our member countries. But I am confident that the efforts to reduce infection rates on the one hand, and the efforts to vaccinate many people on the other, will help us all to achieve orderly conditions again in the summer at any rate.

Here at ESCL, in the last few weeks, we have been discussing and preparing for you all some things already practiced and also new things.

Our vice-chairman Roberto Panetta has thankfully organized the webinar series again, which will start in February and will regularly bring interesting lectures on topics relevant to Europe until May. He has succeeded in attracting competent and experienced speakers for this series of further training and exchange of experience. Thank you for the preparation!

As a new topic, I would like to draw your attention to the collection of the most important treatises on construction and public procurement law which we have compiled from the member states and which can be found on the ESCL website (www.escl.org). Thanks to all who have helped here.

Finally, I want to draw attention to the ESCL Thesis Prize 2021. More information on this can be found later in this newsletter. Please advertise vigorously in your fields and in your national societies for participants so that our jury will have to make the decision from a wide range of contributions and nations.

I wish you all continued good health, enjoyment of our legal profession, and always great courage in the days ahead.

Today I am very cordial,
Yours

Bastian Fuchs
ESCL chair
