Find Sweet Treats with Sustainable Connection's Sweet Sixteen


Sustainable Connections is proud to announce The Sweet Sixteen, a specially curated list of sixteen sweet treats from locally-owned Whatcom County businesses!

From tried-and-true favorite desserts like tiramisu from D'Anna's Cafe Italiano to unique items like Marie's Bee's Creamed Raw Honey + Hot Spices, the list highlights the variety of flavors Whatcom County restaurants and businesses have to offer. The list also celebrates unique ethnic desserts like Polish Donuts from Magdalena's Bistro & Creperie.

Eat Local First Collaborative Launches New Washington Community Supported Agriculture Finder to Connect Consumers


The Eat Local First Collaboration announces the launch of a new Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Finder to help consumers in Washington State search for and learn about CSA near them, make informed decisions to sign up and deepen their connection with and commitment to local farms.

The CSA Finder offers consumers the ability to customize their search for CSA farms with multiple filters – including availability, offerings, season, size, distribution methods and delivery zip codes. Eat Local First has also launched the Meet Your CSA Farmer campaign which is set to run March 15 - 29, 2021. 

Tony's Coffee Celebrates 50 Year Anniversary with Commemorative Blend, Climate Challenge and Coffee Getaways


Tony's Coffee was recently named 2021 Roaster of the Year and now has another big company milestone celebrate — 50 years of roasting delicious craft coffee and espresso. To commemorate this milestone year, the tam roasted up Tony's 50th Anniversary Blend featuring organic, fair trade, shade-grown coffee from Ethiopia and Central America. 

Hotel Bellwether's Lighthouse Bar & Grill Extends Hours


Hotel Bellwether's Lighthouse Bar & Grill is proud to begin offering a premier waterfront dining experience seven days a week! They are now open seven days a week for lunch and dinner service throughout the week.  

The Hotel will be following all Washington State COVID-19 mandates and requirements as well as closely monitor CO2 levels.

Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen Winter Specials

Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen has a lot planned! Not only are they currently taking reservations for their Valentine's Day Dinner, Chuckanut has also paired up with Tony's Coffee for their new Kaffee Dunkel Coffee Lage and brewed its own Italian Style Pilsner, the second Italian Pilsner the brewery has ever created.

Whatcom Women in Business Seek Nominations for the 2021 Professional Woman of the Year and Community Legacy Award


The Professional Women of the Year award is a unique recognition opportunity, and honors the incredible contributions of local Whatcom County women in business. Every year, the Whatcom Women of Business ask the public to submit nominations of women playing pivotal roles in their business and our community. The Community Legacy Award is given to a member of the Whatcom County community who stands out as having made a lifetime of exceptional contributions and lasting impacts. 

Nomination forms are online at the Whatcom Women of Business website and are due March 31, 2021.

Taste Washington To Go will provide opportunities to order take-out food and wine pairings from local restaurants. They will promote these weekly culinary celebrations and month-long promotions throughout the month of March via tastewashington.org.
