SEGCHC Staff Pink Shirt Day!

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.

March 17, 2021 will mark the twelfth year of celebrating Dietitians Day in Canada, always held the third Wednesday in March. It will shine the spotlight on the profession and remind us that dietitians are the trusted choice for reliable life-changing food and nutrition advice.
Saint Patrick’s Day, is a cultural and religious celebration held on March 17 known as Feast of Saint Patrick (IrishLá Fhéile Pádraig, 'the Day of the Festival of Patrick'). St. Patrickpatron saint of Ireland was born in Roman Britain in the late 4th century. He was kidnapped at the age of 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave. He escaped but returned about 432 to convert the Irish to Christianity. By the time of his death on March 17, 461, he had established monasteries, churches, and schools.
 
Community Volunteer Income Tax Program
This year due to covid-19 we are accepting drop-off returns only.  If you would like our help to complete your tax return, please bring your tax information to one of the drop off locations during the dates and times listed below.

If you live in any of the Grey County Affordable Housing locations, Cheryl Luckhardt will be picking up tax information on March 16th. Please contact Cheryl at 519 -376-5744 ext. 1205 to schedule your pick up.

SENIORS ASK is a free service in which seniors and caregivers can reach out to trained volunteers with any questions or concerns they might have.  Through funding from New Horizons, Phase 2 is now expanding to other areas in Grey & Bruce.  The CHC is a partner on this project and we are looking at ways to introduce and adapt this to meet the unique needs of our community.  The lead on this project is Dave Wenn and he will be facilitating two distanced in-person information events:
 
Dundalk (Erskine Centre) on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 10:30 am
Markdale
(Lower Level) on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 10:30 am

Celebrating Social Workers

Nicky Madill is one of the Social Workers at the South East Grey CHC. She has experience and training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Nicky has completed her Masters of Social work, from Wilfrid Laurier University.
As a social worker she provides counselling and advocacy to promote emotional well-being, while supporting a variety of issues such as mild to moderate anxiety and depression, life transitions, relationship problems, abuse, and other life challenges in a safe environment. Feel free to reach out to Nicky at 519-986-3981.

Schedule and Hours of Operation

Based on usage patterns, we will be maintaining the same hours of operation as those prior to the recent shutdown: 
Monday-Thursday: 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. 
Friday: 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. 
Saturday-Sunday: 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon 
 
We will consider increasing our hours as more members reactivate.
