Stay tuned for a decision about Friday.
It's Auction Time!

We are planning the Virtual Live & Silent Auction, our largest fundraiser, and need your help.

The latest Auction information is available here

This year there will be a multi-day online auction leading up to the Blue Jean Gala, which will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021. The Blue Jean Ball will be a fun night celebrated in small groups, and in safe environments, in the private homes of our Concord supporters.

Black History Challenge

Do you know this brave American?

This African American had a distinguished war record and was the only Memphian to become a Tuskegee Airman, flying 71 missions over Europe and shooting down seven German fighters. After World War II he was honored with a parade down Beale Street and was the first Black man to receive a key to the City of Memphis.

The first 3 students to bring Mrs. Palazola the name of this person and an additional fact about him will get an out of uniform day. Your fact must be in writing, in the form of a complete sentence, and with a source cited.

Next Thursday we'll have another Black History Challenge for our students!

(Last week's answer: Claudette Colvin. Click here to learn more.)

The Winter Mixer has GONE HOLLYWOOD!

FEBRUARY 19 - Dress as your favorite movie star or character from a movie or TV show. The mixer will be during the school day. We'll roll out the red carpet for you!

COVID Testing

We are pleased to offer free rapid COVID testing for staff and students at Concord with support from the TN Department of Health. A DocuSign permission form was sent out right after the holiday break. If you need the form to be sent again just reach out to Mrs. Palazola. Please see the COVID-19 Testing FAQ document here for more information. Contact Mrs. Palazola with any questions or concerns at cpalazola@concord-academy.org or 901-682-3115.

School Safety Updates

Teachers are in Group 1b for the Covid vaccine, and the estimate for Shelby County to get to that group is late Feb. or early March. Please be advised that we may call a schoolwide Professional Development day for teachers to get immunized. We will give as much notice as we can if this happens.

Please continue to monitor your student for symptoms each day before coming to school, and keep them at home if they or anyone in your household is sick with any symptom that could be Covid-related.

The latest update to our school safety document was shared with families on Dec 3 and is available here. We are currently operating under the Shelby Co Health Department Directive #17, available here.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Cece Palazola, Executive Director, at cpalazola@concord-academy.org or 901-682-3115.

School Cell Phone Policy

Student cell phones, smart watches, fitness trackers, and other electronic devices are not allowed on campus. Exceptions can be arranged on an individual basis if there is a need (medical monitoring, student drives/walks to school, etc.)

Students were recently reminded of this policy. Students found to have an unauthorized device on campus will receive a detention.

IN-PERSON OR REMOTE LEARNING

Remote learning is an option for those who have health and safety concerns due to Covid 19. We want to provide as much flexibility as possible for our families, while also giving consideration to teachers' planning and preparation, so we are asking families to choose a learning path for each quarter of the school year.

Please use the form at this link if making a change your choice of in-person or virtual learning path for your child by the following dates:
