EDITION 38
“Everything will be okay in the end.
If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.”
DEAR SPONSOR,
School
We begin with the great news that our boys are FINALLY going back to school! All primary schools opened at the beginning of January, followed by all secondary schools a week later. Groups 4 and 8 went back to school in October.
Everyone is so happy! Structure, seeing friends and finally studying again after being home for 10 months.
Holidays and getaways
The boys cooked and baked themselves this Christmas. It is nice that the boys grow older and enjoy cooking and baking. Thanks to Auntie Annemarie we were able to cook delicious special dishes this year. Thanks for all the food Annemarie! (Christmas)Music blared through our house and now and then some dance moves were shown. Auntie Dianne came to celebrate Christmas with us and a number of boys who live with their families came to visit.
Just before Christmas we had two great days. The boys were extra happy because they finally got "out of the house" again. Thanks to Auntie Nathalie and Auntie Dianne we went for a swim at a hotel. Our two new boys had never swum in a pool. After lunch we enjoyed the 3D version of the Croods2 in the cinema. And this with popcorn and soda! It was a lovely day.
The next day we went on safari to Tsavo thanks to the Round Table of Mombasa 3! We've seen lions! Our new Uncle Omariba saw these animals so close for the first time and our new boys were impressed too. It is always a pleasure to see the boys so enthusiastic when they see animals in real life. RTM3, we are very grateful to you for this unforgettable experience.
It was wonderful to be out there together and have a good time. Enjoy and relax. We thank you all for these two wonderful days!
BeHoCa Family
The BeHoCa family has expanded again. We have welcomed two new boys, Kelvin and Japheth.
The BeHoCa family has expanded again. We have welcomed two new boys, Kelvin and Japheth. Besides the boys, we also welcomed Bali, Snowy, Star and Beau. Our dog Lolo gave birth to beautiful puppies. There were 6 pups, but unfortunately two have died. It is an intensive time for us. Snowy is having a hard time and has been admitted to the vet several times. Unfortunately she is back at the vet at this moment. We hope she will return home soon in all health. She has become our favorite due to all the extra care.
Our dog Cutie is also very happy with the expansion of the dog family. Finally dogs who want to play with her. It is wonderful to see them play together outside. The boys are very sweet with them too! So cute.
It is not always easy for our boys. Many of the boys have had malaria. On New Year's Eve we had to go to the emergency room because one of the boys had an acute blood infection. Luckily they were able to get him stable and we were back home just before curfew.
Moving
We moved again. The problems with the landlord piled up and it was no longer livable that way. It negatively affected the boys. We then took the plunge and moved to Tiwi. Here we live in a 4 bedroom house and it is 10 minutes from our plot of land. The purchase of the land is almost complete. We are now waiting for the title deed to be in our name and then we will own a piece of land!
We hope to have our own home soon. All this moving and the changes is taking its toll on everyone. Moving is a challenge anyway, but with the Kenyan struggles it is very tiring. The injustice, the corruption, inequality, no respect… But we persist!
The resilience of children is amazing. For example, our boys started a vegetable garden in our new garden. We have received many seeds from Boerderij de Toekomst from the Netherlands. Thank you very much for this. These are now partially in the ground and we wait anxiously to see what will come of them. It's nice to see that the boys can be themselves again. Playing football, running around with the dogs, working in the garden and of course helping with the chores that still have to be done.
We are extra grateful for the donations we have received for our home. We are counting down and hope it will not be long before we can start building. As soon as we have the deed, we can make our action plan regarding construction costs and financing. I want to come to the Netherlands in May for this. This depends on the applicable Corona rules at that time.
Donations
Due to the move, we have had to incur extra unexpected costs. Fortunately, these could be covered by the extra donations we received around the holidays. We are very grateful to you all! We also received a school donation from Auntie Kristy and Uncle Willem and their network to get the boys ready for school again. Asante Sana !!!
The Hands in Hands Foundation for Melissa has made a great donation of € 2881. The Bos family and Oirschot family have both made a wonderful donation of € 1000. As I type this I have tears of gratitude in my eyes! They are indispensable points of light and a good step towards our dream home! Bless you all!

I apologize to all sponsor parents who have not yet received an update on their sponsor child. I started in December, but due to the hectic period they are not finished yet. I’m working on it, they're coming!

Until the next update!

With kind regards,

The BeHoCa Family

DID YOU KNOW THAT:

• Aaron and Ambrose came to visit, but now continue to live with us. Welcome back boys!

• Our boys enjoyed participating in the Jerusalema challenge. Check our YouTube for the beautiful result.

• Our new car has become a Probox instead of a mini van. The Probox is more stable, better and more economical :)

• Our boys (thanks to the extra donations and the favorable rate) got a visit from Santa Claus. An unexpected nice surprise!

• The boys were not happy that they had to go to the hairdresser before going to school. Bye bye Afro-style, welcome back schoolboy-style ;-)

• Three of our boys live outside the BeHoCa house. They are in grade 8 and can finish their school better this way. Auntie Venesa keeps a close eye on them!

• We have also received donations locally. From food to craft packages, asante sana!
