Free and reduced-price meal contacts recently received information about the new Pandemic-EBT (P-EBT) outreach materials, which serve as the "Phase 1" communication approach to help explain the importance of enrolling students in school, completing a free and reduced-price meal application, and how to access free school meals/other child nutrition programs to families.
Sponsors can provide feedback regarding these new materials via this survey. Feedback will be used to adjust current materials as well as incorporate considerations in the forthcoming Phase 2 and 3 materials.
The Summer Food Service Program claiming module has the capability to import all site claims. Sponsors should work with their Point of Sale (POS) vendors to create a correctly formatted claim import file. Use the updated Claim Upload Template to create either a text file or excel file for claim uploads.
Each monthly call discusses various topics surrounding farm to school as well as features a recipe and culinary demonstration that highlights locally grown and produced products. February’s call answers: What does Farm to School actually mean? How do you determine next steps whether you are new to this process or have been doing it for decades? The culinary demonstration will feature winter squash.

This training builds upon the recipes and ideas shared in second training while helping create more efficiencies. CDE’s School Nutrition welcomes Sharon Murray as the training and communications manager. Sharon most recently worked at the University of Colorado Boulder as the assistant director for health professions advising, and she was the former president and CEO of RMC Health (Rocky Mountain Center for Health Promotion and Education). Sharon has many years of experience providing effective professional learning experiences for diverse audiences of educators and public health professionals to support healthy youth initiatives, and she has a wealth of expertise in strategic planning and leading teams.
