Virtual Wine Tasting

Friday, February 19th, 7pm via Facebook Live

We really like the wine's from Napa's Frog's Leap Winery in no small part because of their sensitive farming practices (organic grape growing, dry farming and many aspects of biodynamics). They treat their grapes and the land around them right. They also don't shy away from trying things outside the norm - from their concrete-fermented Chard to their dry-farmed Merlot to their signature Zinfandel. The result? Great wines that are exceptionally expressive of the vineyards where they are farmed.

Everyone who purchases a kit will be entered in a drawing to win a library wine from Frog's Leap! You must purchase the full kit and you must be present on the livestream when we do the drawing to win!

This week we are focusing on three wines from Frog's Leap and will be joined by Jonah Beer, Frog's Leap's VP of Trade Sales, Marketing & Brand Development. Jonah started his wine career washing glasses in the Stag's Leap Wine Cellars tasting room, and worked his way to Director of Sales and Marketing there. After meeting John Williams, owner of Frog's Leap, Jonah made his way to the "other Leap" and joined the Frog's Leap team. He will be with us during this special virtual tasting event to share what he has learned from Mr. Williams about the unique way Frog’s Leap grows its grapes and makes its wines.

Here are the wines:

Frog's Leap Chardonnay 'Shale and Stone' (2018) Frog's Leap Zinfandel (2018) Frog's Leap Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown (2017)

If you haven't tried one of our virtual tastings, here is how it works. We live stream the event on our Facebook Live page  Friday at 7pm. You don't have to buy the wines to join, anyone can watch for free - but it is more fun to buy the tasting kit and taste along. If you would like to check one out, watch one of the replays of a past event.

We are offering this tasting pack for a special deal - order online and you can pickup, have it delivered, or we will ship it to you!

On Friday, join us on our Facebook page at 7PM and we will have a chat. If you miss it, you can watch the replay!

Cheese Tasting Kit

3 great cheeses to pair with our Frog's Leap tasting. This week we are featuring 3 freshly cut pieces, 1/4lb each of the following:

Black Diamond Cheddar (Canada)

Black Diamond Cheddar has a distinct flavor due to a unique aging process carried out under ideal conditions. This classic cheddar combines quality ingredients, the skilled eye and palate of master craftsmen, and careful aging, all of which come together to bring out the finest characteristics of taste, texture and appearance.

Sottocenere al Tartufo (Italy)

Sottocenere al Tartufo is a truffle-infused Italian cheese made with pasteurized cow's milk in the northern region of Veneto. Its name meaning "under ash", is derived from the layer of ash that covers the cheese as it ages. It is a pale yellow, semi-soft cheese. Black truffles are added in the paste which is then aged in ashes. A green leaf and spices like nutmeg, coriander, cinnamon, liquorice, cloves, and fennel on the rind retain the aroma of the cheese.

Drunken Goat (Spain)

Drunken goat cheese (murcia al vino), a DOP cheese from the Murcia region of southeast Spain, where you might also see it called queso de cabra al vino. The purple rind develops in a red wine bath, which also gives the semifirm cheese a slightly fruity flavor and definite wine aroma.
