Happy Valentine's Day from my favorite place!

Valentine's Day Gnome Card

I just had to make a gnome Valentine for my husband!  This one began using an embossing folder on a black card panel.  The gnome was something I saw on Pinterest and I had so much fun trying to make my own version.  He even has skinny little legs!  The rest of the card was duplicated from our card making project of last week.  I can't wait to make a gnome for St. Patrick's Day!

Post Valentine's Day Card

I'm showing the WIP of this card first because it exemplifies the conundrum I went through while trying to decide whether to toss it or keep going.  Fortunately, I kept going but I was truly worried for awhile there.  I saw this card on Pinterest as posted by Tatiana Craft and Artc - link HERE.  She, of course, had me at hearts (my signature shape I love using all year.)  She also talked about Lost and Found Edges but didn't explain what that was, so I found a video on YouTube and Anthony of Watercolor Affair gave an excellent explanation.  Link HERE.  In fact, I liked his video so much, I just might replicate his example for my kitchen!

I hand drew all the hearts first with a pencil and then added watercolor in pretty much a wet on dry method.  Keep in mind that I hadn't seen the Lost Edges video prior to making this card, so I was just winging it.  Like I said, I was so tempted to stop at this point!
So glad I kept going to finish this card!  It is going to my future daughter in-law for her birthday.  I ended up outlining each heart with a micron pen which helped make them pop.  Adding little doodled swirls filled in between the hearts nicely.  I offset two diecut sentiments to add depth.  Watercolor splatter was a must!  Pretty happy with this card.  My message for you today is to not give up on yourself too quickly.  Imagine if I had tossed this in the garbage!

Sister Share

Had to share this beautiful card my sister mailed to me in Florida!  She's becoming quite skilled on her Cricket machine and this card is a stunning example of the fancy diecutting this can do.  The white background is glitter paper, so it really has a nice sparkle to it.  I put it in a frame for display on my buffet table.  So special!
Have a lovely Valentine's Day and a pleasant week!

XOXO
