Help us shape the future of the District

Our Long Term Plan 2021-2031 consultation document is open for public feedback until Friday, 9 April 2021.

The Long Term Plan (LTP) sets the budget, forecasts future rate levels and details key projects for the next 10 years. Our six key proposals have been developed from community engagement last year that included workshops, online engagement and written submissions resulting in 40,000 individual pieces of feedback on key issues the community wants Council to address.

Our six key proposals for funding over the next 10 years are:

  • community halls (who should pay)
  • maintaining our roading network (do we want to improve road safety)
  • swimming pools (do we want new aquatic facilities)
  • walking and cycling (do we want to build more)
  • CCTV - security cameras (do we want to improve community safety)
  • elder housing (do we continue providing elder housing)

Dogs soon to rule the pool
Help us make a splash at Dogs in Togs, the final event in our Wander Dogs Summer Series, on Saturday 10 April. There will be some great prizes for the gold coin donation event. The Te Puke Memorial Pool will close to humans for the season, so Pool Management has given us one last dip before the pool is drained. Head to our Facebook event for more information.
