RU-N Celebrates Women's History Month
Rutgers Newark Skyline Photo
Dear Rutgers University – Newark community members, Following
President Holloway’s message to the Rutgers community announcing that all Spring 2021 commencement ceremonies will be virtual, I write to provide an update on the planning process under way at Rutgers-Newark to honor our own inspiring graduates this spring. Joining the process that already involves representatives of all of Rutgers-Newark’s schools and colleges is a committee of students who are bringing their ideas to the table about how to enhance the virtual commencement ceremony, as well as conceiving other memorable ways to engage graduates. We are inviting all members of the Rutgers-Newark community to provide input, too, by sending your ideas for creatively (and safely) celebrating our graduating students this year by
April 1 to RUNgraduation2021@rutgers.edu.
Graduation means so much to students and families, as well as faculty and staff. We all share the disappointments brought upon us again this year by the scourge of the pandemic. At the same time, we are determined to put the spotlight on the accomplishments of our students—and their families—in achieving the milestone of graduation. We look forward to receiving your ideas and sharing details about our developing plans in the coming weeks.
Cordially,
Nancy Cantor, Chancellor
