These panelists will personally unpack how they navigate the challenges facing leaders of color in 2021, and provide current examples of how George Fox is engaging around the topic of racial equity and justice.

Andrea Scott joined the university in 2020 to serve as provost, arriving with extensive experience in the business world. She worked previously at California Baptist University, where she was dean and professor of marketing in the Jabs School of Business for four years. Andrea is a former Fulbright Scholar and a native of Kingston, Jamaica.

"I'm grateful to be a part of a community that is committed to the good work of genuine reconciliation; I am eager to join other George Fox folk in pursuit of authentic fellowship."

Michael Reza leads the university’s advancement team, where he oversees the university’s fundraising, alumni relations and grant support efforts. He also serves as a member of the University Executive Leadership Team, where he helps lead the operations of the university. Michael joined George Fox as vice president for advancement and chief advancement officer in July of 2018.

Rebecca Hernandez has served a variety of roles since coming to George Fox University in 2014. She currently serves as associate provost for academic success, chief diversity officer, and is the director for the Center of Peace & Justice. 

She is responsible for bringing the search advocate program to George Fox in an effort to increase representation of faculty and administrators. Rebecca is also a 2020 Alumni Fellow at Oregon State University, recognized for her contribution to diversity and inclusion in higher education.
