Looking forward: International Women's Day 8th March
In the interest of International Women’s Day on Monday 8 March 2021, we caught up with three of our ambassadors to ask them what they think about ‘Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world’.
We asked them what does achieving an equal future mean to them?
Chelsea: “Facing what you think is impossible head-on, and having a good support network. Pushing for more opportunities, particularly for women in my situation. I’m currently studying a mainstream university course, even though I’m a person with a disability. The challenge for me was making the transition from a course that was designed for people with disabilities to a mainstream environment. I’ve overcome that challenge in a way because I have a strong support network around me.”
Evie-Rose: “It means having the freedom to challenge yourself if you need to. If you find something too easy, you can choose to have more knowledge. Challenge yourself to do something different that you might think is really difficult and you think there’s no way I can do that, but it’s important to give it a try.”
Emma: “Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone to do things that you always wanted to try or have been curious about but haven’t had the confidence to give a go.”
