MARCH 2021 COMMUNIQUE

What day is it?
I find myself asking this question more often these days.  As the days, weeks, and months seem to all blend into one, it is our monthly Executive Board Meetings that remind me even in these difficult and challenging times, we are still pushing forward to spread our message of hope throughout our community.  We are extremely fortunate to have a Board of volunteers who were able to adapt to the changes that we faced this year and for that I am so thankful.  A genuine desire to make our community stronger, better, and more resilient; these women have helped me to remain focused on our task at hand. We are currently focused on promoting our scholarship to bright young women in the community, and planning a monumental Centennial year of celebration.
We appreciate you all hanging in there with us,
as we have many wonderful things coming your way!

Our February GMM highlighted an incredible speaker, Amber Estelle of the YWCA.  Members learned about the current climate of human trafficking in Western Mass and talked about more ways that we can support the fight!
Ongoing volunteer work is happening this spring with

The Food Bank of Western Mass, Girls, Inc., Boys & Girls Club, Help Our Kids, Inc. and of course, our own LRB!

Our new member group this year is incredible! They are committed to the development of a new member project, putting a unique spin on a "career fair" for young women in our community! We'll share more information about that just as soon as it's available.

Our February Virtual Galentine's event was a smashing success! And as spring days are ahead, we look forward to sharing more socially distant and SAFE member gatherings!

Sarah Shaw, VP of Community
As our 100th year rolls around, we have been reflecting on how the Junior League of Greater Springfield has made a lasting impact on both our community and in our personal lives.  Planning an event that showcases our impact on the community and our development as leaders is no easy task, yet we strive as a league to make it happen. Thank you to the centennial committee for investing time and energy into making our 100th year one to remember!

Jackie Martucci, VP of Communications
Tracy Pietkevich, President Elect
