In 1940’s New England on Halloween night guests gather in the mansion of Franklin and Shirley Yates. When a guest and recent heir to a large fortune is found dead under mysterious circumstances moments before dinner, eight of the influential house guests gather to try to solve the mystery and keep the tragic events of the evening under wraps. As a storm brews over the mansion our guests unravel the mystery behind the secret agendas, relationships and supernatural forces that were at play in the first death of the evening. Hysterics is a murder mystery dripping with campy comedy that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final reveal.

New to Guild? Here's an FAQ.

What's Guild like during a normal, in-person semester?
Every semester, UMTG produces two shows: a mainstage play and alternate space musical in the fall, then an alternate space play and mainstage musical in the spring. We like to say two shows, one Guild.

What's an A-Team?
A-Team, or artistic team, consists of lighting, sound, costumes, hair, makeup, scenic, and build teams. These people run the designs of production. Leadership positions in these areas include the technical director, master carpenter, shop manager, and designers.

What's a Rehearsal Team?
Rehearsal Team is the group of people that sit in and run each rehearsal. This includes the director, stage manager, and dramaturg for plays while musicals also have the music director and choreographer.

Do I need theater experience to join the Theatre Guild?
No! We are a student-run organization that values process over product. Now is your chance to branch out and try something new in theater!

When are rehearsals?
We have rehearsals from Sunday to Thursday every week depending on the schedule of the cast. We try to work around your schedules so please let us know any weekly conflicts you may have!
