Food for the Hungry
We served 51 families in our supplemental grocery program, 3 of which were emergency deliveries where there was no food in the home. Our monthly grocery boxes contained canned vegetables, breakfast items, canned meats, pasta, baking items, rice, fresh produce (lettuce, tomatoes, celery, onions, carrots, potatoes, bananas, lettuce), and every family received a whole turkey.
Volunteers packed and delivered well over 7,445 lbs of food to our clients.
Our drivers also delivered our Boxes of Love for our students on Thanksgiving break totaling 1,831 lbs.
The Food 4 the Hungry program is at Otwell Middle School on the 3rd Sat. of each month to put the final items for each family together by site location.
We work in masks, small groups and pre-pack our family boxes so we are keeping our numbers of volunteers down in one location at a time.
We send out our "volunteer opportunities" with a number of persons we are needing and ask our volunteers to let us know when and how they wish to participate. What a blessing that it always comes together!
