It might not feel like it across much of Saskatchewan this week, where we're getting some very wintery weather, but spring is almost here! Our team at the University of Saskatchewan (USask) is excited to connect with you and your students through many new virtual events in the coming weeks leading up to the May 1 application deadline for many programs.
You, your students and their parents are welcome to join us as we offer information about our programs, and application and admission processes through presentations, our USask Express workshop and weekly Q&As. If your students don't know yet what field they'd like to work in, or which university program to apply for, they can now discover the many insipring paths to their future careers by attending our exclusive USASKSparks webinars!

May 1 application deadline
May 1 is the deadline for Canadian citizens, permanent residents and international applicants to apply for admission to:
May 1 is also the deadline for international applicants to apply for admission to programs in the College of Arts and Science.
While the deadline for Canadian citizens and permanent residents to apply for admission to the College of Arts and Science is August 15, applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible since class registration opens in June.

Joint admission
Students who do not meet USask's English language proficiency requirement are encouraged to apply for joint admission to their degree program of choice and our English for Academic Purposes program. The deadline to apply for joint admission for the 2021 Fall Term is July 15; however, we encourage students to apply early.

A new path to career discovery with USask
Our exclusive Monday webinars, offered until April 26, will help students in grades 10 to 12:
- Think about solving real-world challenges
- Learn about USask degrees tackling those challenges
- Start planning for their careers early
- Think locally and globally
During our webinars, students will interact with SparkPath "challenge cards," and choose the top 3 real-world problems they'd like to solve. They will be directed to careers and industries that tackle those challenges. Based on their results, students will learn more about the wide range of USask degrees that will help them solve global problems and become what the world needs.

Indigenous Student Experience Days
Tuesday, April 13 and Wednesday, April 14, 2021
Indigenous Student Experience Days is an event for Métis, First Nations and Inuit students in high school and their supporters to get to know the USask campus community.
Over two days, participants will join in numerous cultural and academic experiences online, and meet with other prospective and current university students, university staff and faculty, alumni and Elders.
This year's online event includes:
- a keynote address by USask alumnus, Constable John Langan, who is a member of the Keeseekoose First Nation and a graduate of the Indigenous justice and criminology program at USask
- a Sharing Circle with Elders and Circle Keepers
- an Indigenous student and alumni panel
- Métis jigging and fiddle playing
- guest speakers Dr. Jacqueline Ottmann, vice-provost, Indigenous engagement, and Dr. Airini, provost and vice-president academic
- an online scavenger hunt game for students

To help set a good intention for this event, Elders and Indigenous youth from the USask community came together to choose a meaningful name for USask's Indigenous Student Experience Days. The name that was chosen was piihtikway in Michif and pihtikwe tawāw in Cree, which translate as, "Come in; you are welcome here."

Fast-lane application review for participating students!
Save the date! On Thurs. April 15 we will be offering a USask Express application workshop for students interested in applying this year for admission to Fall 2021 and Winter 2022 undergraduate programs in the Colleges of Agriculture and Bioresources, Arts and Science, Education (Language Teacher Education), Engineering and Edwards School of Business.
Eligibles students who submit their application and all of the required documents such as transcripts at a USask Express event could receive a decision within one week.
The event includes application workshops and an information session. Students can join whichever activity they are interested in!

Drop-in Q&A Wednesdays
Did you know students can book a 20-minute appointment with a USask recruitment officer to answer any questions about admission requirements, scholarships, housing and more?
Appointments are available for students interested in applying to undergraduate programs in the Colleges of Agriculture and Bioresources, Arts and Science, Education, Engineering, Kinesiology and Edwards School of Business.
