The SIGMA Global Virtual Course is an inter-university effort that offers graduate students an avenue to critically unpack issues surrounding the United Nations’ Social Development Goals. For the 2020 run of the course, the Singapore Management University, with the Lien Centre for Social Innovation, collaborated with six universities across Asia and Europe to deliver modules ranging from responsible global leadership, to social entrepreneurship and clean energy business opportunities. These students recap what they learned.

Introducing the Glowmakers app, a digital questionnaire that encourages reflection upon changemaking and shows users how they can make a positive difference in their lives and those of others. Sparked by an “aha” moment by our Executive Director Christy Davis, the app was subsequently brought to life by a group of SMU undergrads and made its debut at SMU Patrons Day 2021.

Following her personal experiences of caring for her grandmother with dementia, Dr Chen Shiling decided to go the extra mile to raise awareness on issues faced by persons with intellectual disabilities (PWIDs). She also founded the Happee Hearts Movement to advocate for improving healthcare services available to this community.
