News

Thank you!
A massive and heartfelt thank you for responding so positively to the St Laurence Church request to review giving. At the beginning of 2020 we had just over forty standing orders, and we now have over seventy. Our monthly cash flow is now much more secure. We have also received over £1,500 in one off donations. We aren't yet where we need to be, but we have made significant progress. We are planning on launching a Friends' organisation in April; more news to follow. These are very challenging times for the church, as with all organisations, but we will get to a place where ministry, mission, and community outreach are sustainable. Thank you for your generosity.

Lent
On Tuesday evenings in Lent, why not join the Contemplative Prayer Group (by Zoom)? Contemplative Prayer is for everyone and over the five weeks of Lent we are going to explore five different approaches: The Examen from the Jesuit tradition, Lectio Devina from the Benedictine tradition, The Jesus Prayer, which is central to the practice of Orthodox Spirituality, The Path of Descent which is widely used in the Centre for Action and Contemplation, and Touch Wood - prayer using Holding Crosses. We hope there is something for everyone.

The sessions will be short, around 20 minutes. Contemplative Prayer is a real gift to the church and its aim is straightforward: closer union with God.

If you would like to participate please email Revd Mark.

Book Group

The Book Group meets again by Zoom on 1 March at 6.45pm. We shall be chatting about A Question of Integrity by Susan Howatch. Newcomers are always welcome and it’s a very relaxed discussion. If you would like to join us please let Didier know by emailing him at didier@winslowbenefice.org.uk and he will send you the meeting details.

Women's World Day of Prayer
(Now officially just World Day of Prayer)

This year's service on 5 March at 2pm has been prepared by the people of Vanuatu.

Obviously this cannot be a live service, nor can we serve lunch! However, we will be holding the service via Zoom. If you are unable to access Zoom, please contact Judy, 715484, and we will send you a copy of the service.
