Bowls News

Good Morning Bowlers

After two days of competition for the Mens' Singles Championship, Neville Brierley proved once again what an outstanding bowler he is to be this year's Singles Champion.

Runner up was Dave Kahl after reaching the final for the second time in two years, that in itself is a top effort.

The Plate went to Ted Osborne who played the final against George Urbaniak.

Coming into the last few rounds of Pennants it is important the selectors have as many bowlers available to select the best teams, to ensure we are not relegated in any division. It is essential for the Club to ensure we have teams in the top divisions. so make yourself available.

Good numbers have been attending Wednesday Social Bowls with some of our newer bowlers making their mark in the winners circle.  Great to see.

Wednesday the 17th March is our Open Triples Day, there are no Social Bowls that day so if you want a game get a team in.  So far we have quite a number of teams entered from the Club.

The Mens Fours Championship will be coming up soon, when we can fit it in to the current schedule.

This week is country week and we are being represented by Neville Brierley, Daryl Spargo, Bert deLacy and George Urbaniak.  We wish them all the best.
