Despite spring and the promise of lockdown easing, we’re still stuck at home (in the UK at least), finding universal amusement in the strangest of things: lawyer catJackie Weaver! While social tools become embedded in our lives, the tech companies that make them consolidate their power. Twitter confirms it will never let Donald Trump back in and Google continues to clear dissenting voices from its ethics team. Meanwhile, Facebook bans the Myanmar military and takes on the Australian government. As Marina Hyde puts it, in a world where companies are stronger than countries, the question we should all be asking is what does Mark Zuckerberg want from us?
