City of Carmel announces 3-year sponsorship agreement with Allied Solutions for City events
The City of Carmel is excited to announce a new partnership and three-year sponsorship agreement with Allied Solutions that will cover a variety of opportunities for participation and exposure during more than a dozen City of Carmel annual events. The $450,000 sponsorship – paid out in $150,000 installments each of the three years – will include several events to be held at Midtown, where Allied Solutions’ national corporate headquarters is located.

“From our office windows we see the remarkable qualities of Midtown Plaza with its green space and trail, outdoor games, big screen video board and of course the growing number of restaurants and shops,” said Pete Hilger, CEO of Allied Solutions (pictured below). “We have wanted to find a way to get more involved in Midtown activities, as well as other events where our employees, the residents of Carmel and many visitors come together to enjoy our City. With this agreement, we feel we have a way to do just that and we are thrilled to be a part of events that make Carmel a great place to experience.”

Comprehensive Plan update
City offers a way to participate in 4-part webinar discussion series on comprehensive land use plan to inform, guide future decisions

The City of Carmel’s Department of Community Services is launching a new update of the comprehensive plan for the City’s growth that will guide city planners and decision makers for the next decade or longer. The last update took place in 2009 and has served our growing City well. With recent growth in our central corridor and changes seen in business and residential patterns, the time has come for another update.

The City has engaged the team of Greenstreet and YARD & Company to assist City planning staff and leadership in updating the comprehensive plan around growth management, land use, transportation and environment.

The community is invited to be part of this project by signing up for the four-part “Talk of the Town” interactive discussions focused on the future of Carmel. During these meetings, the project consulting team will be presenting key aspects of the plan update process and answering questions about the planning process via a live webinar format.

The meetings will be held on the following dates with these topics:

February 26 at noon – Leverage your own gravity
March 12 at noon – Move in, not out
March 26 at noon – Unlock complementary growth
April 9 at noon – Shape the growth

News from Indiana Statewide Development Corporation

The new home for Indy Spine and Rehab chiropractic clinic will be in a building in Carmel purchased with financing from the United States Small Business Administration 504 loan program from Security Federal Savings Bank and Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corporation.

Indy Spine and Rehab founder Ryan Van Matre says, "with the SBA 504 loan we were able to purchase a commercial condominium in Carmel that will serve as our long-term facility. The SBA 504 loan allowed me to purchase the property without having to deplete cash reserves. This was critical during COVID-19 lockdown."

The City of Carmel plans to begin the next phase of transforming Range Line Road from a five-lane stretch of roadway – between City Center Drive and Elm Street – into a beautiful, tree-lined boulevard. This Midtown portion of Range Line Road will provide a continued boulevard treatment featuring elements found further south, such as pedestrian-friendly crosswalks, bike-lanes and landscaped medians. It will also have a new roundabout at Walnut Street (6th Street SE), which will eventually continue west, creating an east-west connection from Range Line to Monon Boulevard and eventually 3rd Avenue SW.
