Recycling Lab Products

Did you know the Twin Cities campus has a program to collect and recycle plastic lab products?

Items accepted include pipette tip boxes and inserts, empty syringe covers, clean #5 (polypropylene) test tubes, and various bottles.

Just contact recycle@umn.edu to get started!

The UMN Recycling Team will work with you to identify a centralized collection point, set-up a recycling bin and place appropriate signage.

Mask Recycling

There's no question that an unprecedented amount of masks are being used to help keep us safe. That is why Waste Recovery Services now offers disposable mask recycling!

Departments will be supplied with a box for mask collection and, once full, it will be picked up and taken to a recycling facility. Accepted masks include surgical, N95 and KN95 masks.

If interested, reach out to recycle@umn.edu for more information. The cost for the service is $115 per 50-liter box.

New PPE Added

Still need PPE? A variety of new items have been added to help keep your department safe.

From disinfectant wipes to KN95 masks you can find it all on our PPE page.

REMINDER:
New Cylinder Supplier

Just a quick reminder that Airgas is the new gas cylinder supplier for U Market Stock.

And did you know that the overall cost of their gas is less than the previous supplier AND their daily rental rates are 30% lower?

To begin saving money, return your empty Matheson cylinders by following these steps. Once your old cylinder has been returned, place a new order on U Market to take advantage of the new contract pricing and rates.

For more information on the types of cylinders Airgas offers click here. And if you more specific questions, contact Thomas Harless at thomas.harless@airgas.com.
