I just wanted to send a huge thank you to those of you that were able to give in December to help us through this rough patch. For those of you that don’t know, or are new to us, in December I let our supporters know about the financial state of things in Haiti.
 

In October the value of the US Dollar went down significantly, nearly doubling our budget overnight! This has been crippling for many small nonprofits. Thanks to extra help we made our budget in December and January. However, we are not out of the woods yet! The valuation is creeping back up slowly. In fact, today is the first day I have seen the number change this month, which is promising. But we don't know how long this will last. If the value of the US Dollar does not continue an upward trend, we will be left trying to raise an extra $40,000 this year!

It is a lot of money but not impossible. It breaks down to about $3300 per month. If we had 100 of our supporters commit to give an extra $33 per month right now we would make ends meet. Could you help with that?
 
We currently have 100 out of 300 students sponsored.  If we could get all of our students sponsored our budget for the year would be taken care of! If you are currently sponsoring could you share our sponsorship program so others can sponsor as well? If you aren't sponsoring, we'd love to have you!

Speaking of sponsorships, we are right in the middle of switching to a new giving platform called Pure Charity! I am so excited about this because it will make things super easy for us and you! We simply grew out of our website capabilities and it was causing us to miss payments which does not help our current situation. Many of you have already been emailed regarding this switch and the rest will be hearing from us after the 1st. Please keep an eye out for that email. We'd love to see all of our sponsors switched to the new platform as soon as possible.
