Speak Science Simply
Speak Science Simply is an outreach program that aims to provide individuals involved in science and research with the skills and confidence to communicate effectively and share their work with the general public.

The program will be open to the public, including interested participants from across scientific fields, and will be led by a multidisciplinary team from Concordia University of Edmonton’s Faculties of Science and Education with the support of leaders from the institution and experts in communication.

To communicate effectively, the scientific community must ensure messaging is tailored to its audiences, delivering the right message, on the right platform, at the right time.

Centre for Chinese Studies
The Interdisciplinary Research Cluster on Linguistics and Language Education presents two exciting talks:

Controlling COVID-19 in China: Crisis Management One Year In

Presented by Ausma Bernot and Dr. Marcella Siqueira Cassiano

Friday, March 19th, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

The COVID-19 pandemic has started new conversations about the future role of surveillance technologies in health crisis management. Situations of crisis are critical for organizations (in this case, a country). They either break down or reinvent themselves. In this talk, Ausma Bernot and Dr. Marcella Siqueira Cassiano will present their analysis of China's response to Covid-19 from three perspectives: social-political, technological, and psychological, based on the State Council policies, including guidelines from the National Health Commission.
