Life Quote from Lutherans For Life -“Christians are to show no partiality whatsoever. My brother in Christ who happens to have more melanin than I have in the paper-thin upper level of our skin—while all the skin below the paper is the same—is not of a different race than I. So-called ‘race’ is not even skin deep! That’s mere upper-skin coloring, not race. Varying levels of mere melanin indicate that we’re all coffee beans—some are blonde roast, some are medium or dark or espresso roast, but we’re all coffee, we’re all colored people.” James M. Kushiner, The Fellowship of St. James – A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life   • www.lutheransforlife.org

Issues, etc. -  Pastor Weedon will begin a study this week on the Book of Hosea. You can listen at your convenience at thewordendures.org, the LPR mobile app and your favorite podcast provider.

LCMS Foundation - Surveys indicate that most people who give to support ministry are not highly motivated by tax issues.  They are motivated by God’s grace.  Yet those who support the Lord’s work want to be wise about the management of God’s gifts and this means paying attention to the impact of taxation on the use of those gifts.  Your LCMS Foundation Gift Planning Counselor can help you begin that consideration.  Contact Scott A. Radden at (618) 977-4049 or Scott.Radden@lfnd.org for more information.

Attendance last week was 300 with 216 Communing. The offering was: General fund $18,549, Specials $1,059 including $115 in Memory of Barb Burstadt. Total $19,608.

A Reminder for Our Health Policy

Every month our boards review our health policy because of the COVID Virus. We believe the following procedures will allow us to worship and carry out our ministry without causing unnecessary risk of spreading the virus.

1. We urge everyone to pray for God's help to overcome this disease and to protect and preserve life in every way by continuing to worship and work as much as possible in healthy ways.

2. For all "in-person" activities (worship, Bible study, meetings, etc.) we ask everyone to maintain social distancing (six feet between persons/families), keeping room capacity at 25% or less, and to wear a mask when unable to maintain social distancing.

3. Anyone who has higher risk factors for COVID should worship via the FM broadcast (parking lot) or by video and/or via the Monday evening all mask, no singing communion service. Anyone with COVID symptoms should worship via the FM broadcast or by video.

4. Please talk to the pastors if you have any questions.
