Invitation to participate in the Workplace Preferences Survey

As COVID-19 continues to impact the way we work in the Faculty of Education and across UBC, we are inviting faculty and staff to share feedback through a Workplace Preferences Survey. This survey is an opportunity to share feedback on your experiences in the workplace over the last year as well as what you’d like your workplace to look like in the future. The survey closes end of day on Wednesday, March 3. Learn more

UBC Sustainability: Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Week

Organized by the UBC Sustainability Ambassadors, SDG Week runs from March 1st to March 5th and seeks to increase awareness of and engagement with the goals from diverse perspectives. All Faculty of Education staff are invited to attend a staff-only town hall as a follow-up to the Faculty-wide town hall. Staff will have the opportunity to ask questions and express their opinions on the return to on-campus work. Note that as of yet, there is no planned or anticipated return date. Through the Lens: Anti-Blackness after 2020–Invisibility, hyper-visibility, & mental health

The workshop, facilitated by registered clinical counsellor Sacha Médiné, will explore the experience of Blackness, and the toll of anti-Blackness, in the aftermath of events in 2020. Participants will be invited to explore the impacts of and responses of Black folks to these dynamics, and to engage with their own participation in, or resistance to, ongoing anti-Blackness in its new context. Learn more
