Principal Corner
Dear Niwot Elementary Families,
As we begin the third and final trimester I am in awe of all the learning and hard work accomplished so far. It is hard to believe that we have reached the start of our final trimester for this academic year. Our school community continues to grow and learn together. I could not be more proud of our entire school community. Please take a moment on March 5th to log into IC and view your student(s) 2nd trimester report card.
This week we will celebrate Read Across America. We invite students and staff to dress up as their favorite book character on Tuesday, March 2nd. It's so fun to see all of the creative book characters that students choose to represent. Our 5th grade leadership team has worked hard to make this a fun week and to find fun ways to celebrate our love of reading!
Don't forget to sign up for Project Launch! Through Project Launch, students can strengthen their reading and math skills over the summer in a fun and friendly environment. This program will take place June 7-July 1, Monday-Thursday, at Burlington Elementary (NES students and BES students combine at this site). This is a full-day program from 8:30am-3:30pm, transportation provided, breakfast/lunch/snack provided and this is available to families at no cost. Families need to commit to attending the entire time (June 7-July 1, Monday-Thursday) and please know that the instruction is designed for students that could benefit from extra support. If you are interested please contact the office for a registration form.
Thanks for your support. Please let me know how I can support you.
Sincerely,
Nancy Pitz
Principal

Each month, Read Across America features three books—for young, middle grade and young adult readers—that explore a topic related to diversity and inclusion. Check out the calendar here to see what's in store!
We invite students and staff to dress up as a favorite book character to celebrate Read Across America Day on Tuesday, March 2nd.

Nutrition Services is partnering with the Denver Broncos and Dairy Max to help encourage students to grab a healthy meal on Fridays. Again, school meals are at no cost through the end of the year for any child 1-18 years.
Contest is similar to "Willy Wonka" and finding a "Golden Ticket" in one meal bag at all of our Friday curbside meal sites. If the student finds the winning ticket, they need to turn it into the school where they picked up their meal from. They will win 1 of 5 Broncos signed merchandise. It should be fun. We are running the contest each Friday (only) at those meal sites through 3/19/2021.
