Cameron Happenings
March 2021
You're on mute.
Laughing at our current times.
A Fresh Start at Cameron: As our Trustees are working hard at repairing the serious effects of water damage to our historic building, the Cameron Today4Tomorrow team is looking ahead to when we will all be able to be together IN-PERSON later this year. To that end, it is time for Spring Cleaning!

The month of March is dedicated to identifying personal belongings and arranging for their pickup. If you have anything at Cameron that you still want, please contact Mary Strizek or Emily Ward to arrange a time to meet at the church. This might be coats, sweaters, electronics, kitchenware, supplies–anything that belongs to you. If items are not picked up by the end of the month and are not of use to Cameron, they will be donated or disposed of.

Also, if you have knowledge about things that are stored at Cameron, we want to know this too! We don’t want to accidentally donate or dispose of anything that is part of Cameron’s ministry and the groups that participate in it. Current and active items that are used by groups such as the Guild for Sacred Studies or MicroGrass can certainly remain at the church. We just want to be sure everything is identified properly and all unused items are cleared out.

The month of April will be dedicated to Decluttering. We will go through the contents of closets, cabinets, drawers, etc. and stage items for review in Fellowship Hall and the Community Room. Stay tuned for more information about this phase! Thank you!

If you have any thoughts or ideas about re-entry, contact any member of the Cameron Today4Tomorrow team: Pastor Jackson, Pastor Denise, Rev. Jeremy, Mary Strizek, Jason Bell, Mike Hyman, Mary Jane McCormick, Catherine Teutsch, Emily Ward, and Eric Robinson.

Lenten Book Study: We will be reading My Grandmother’s Hands: Racialized Trauma and the Pathway to Mending Our Hearts and Bodies by Resmaa Menakem, led by Debbie Gowensmith and Pastor Denise on Wednesdays, February 24–March 31 at 6:30 p.m. For more information, click here, the Zoom link is on the Cameron calendar.

Good Trouble at Cameron: is our commitment to advocacy and action to ensure that every human being enjoys the basic human rights of equality, justice, equity and dignity. If you would like to join us and participate in the direction and definition of our work, please contact Good Trouble at Cameron. For community and anti-racism resources, click here.

AfterHours and Helping Hands: We will be preparing sack lunches to serve to the homeless in Civic Center Park on March 20. Volunteers are needed to donate food supplies and prepare sack lunches. Click here for more information and to sign up.

Fun and Games: We are going to help you nurture your creative side on Friday, March 5 at 7 p.m. If you enjoyed Zentangle with Jan and her friend Terri in November, you will want to mark your calendars! Zentangle is an awesome way to tap into your creative side, relax, reduce some stress and learn from Jan and Terri, Zentangle experts! It is suggested that you have fine or medium tipped markers, or pens, blank paper to draw on, #2 pencil and maybe a Q-tip for blending shaded areas. If you really want to pursue Zentangle, you can purchase Pigma Micron pens in varying sizes.

On Friday, March 19 at 7 p.m. you just need to bring yourself and log onto Cameron Fun and Games. We will be doing a scavenger hunt within your house. It's going to be fun and will allow you a chance to share more about yourself, as we find hidden treasures in your house! The Zoom link is on the Cameron calendar. Our goal is to build community, laugh, have fun and enjoy each other's company. We meet the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome!
