A new caresearch portal is coming soon

CareSearch developing a new portal

The CareSearch Project is undertaking a major re-structure of its current website to offer a rich set of integrated resources for the palliative care community that can be easily navigated.

The portal will include a major aged care centre which will feature palliAGED and other projects offering practical resources and information. You can participate in the building of the new portal by sharing your insights.

Sector News

 Royal Commission's final report now available

The final report from the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety has been tabled in the Parliament and is now available to read in the commission’s website. The recommendations focus on addressing the care needs of older Australians across the system. There are a number of recommendations relating to palliative care, end of life and advance care directives. 

The Australian Government has announced an additional $452.2 million funding to address immediate priorities and has outlined five pillars that will underpin its response. These pillars are: 

  1. Supporting older Australians who choose to access home care
  2. Quality and safety in residential aged care delivers dignity alongside care
  3. Investing to drive improvements in residential aged care services
    and sustainability
  4. Workforce: Growing a passionate and skilled aged care workforce
  5. Governance: Oversight, standards, and accountability

COVID-19 vaccine information resources for aged care

The Department of Health has information resources to support COVID-19 vaccine rollout to residential aged care facilities. These include: 

New resources will be added and made available through the Department’s website.
