Upcoming Sale Information
I have 19 little dolls completed and ready for adventure! In the mix are 2 boy dolls, and 2 sets of sister dolls. These will all be available at the above sale time. Below are the Etsy previews showing them as they will appear in my shop once they are released. You can also check out the 'before and after' pictures on my Facebook page.

Please be aware that the coronavirus pandemic may still be impacting parcel delivery to some countries from Australia. I send all parcels through Australia Post standard delivery. You can check the current delivery time frame for your country at Australia Post - coronavirus impacts.

This Month's Charity
For this month I will be supporting on of my favourite non-profit organisations the Tasmanian Land Conservancy with my usual 10% of every doll sale donation. I believe we all need to put as much as we can into preserving and caring for our natural ecosystems while we can, to ensure a better future for life on planet Earth and for our children. Check out some of the science programs they fund to monitor wildlife populations and how you can get involved.

Doll Donations
This month I want to thank L Weeks, Tracy in the UK, and the local from Little Athletics who all sent in much appreciated doll donations. Tracy also sent some amazing vintage knitting patterns for doll clothes which I've passed onto my mum. She loved them! They will definitely be put to good use.

DIY Tips and Ideas
Many of the boy dolls I find have flocking over the back and sides of their head, instead of rooted hair. This is very short hair that is glued to the surface. Because the dolls are second-hand it has often rubbed off in patches. To repair them I choose a matching colour of synthetic fur fabric and cut this to size and glue in place. Then I give the doll a hair cut, trimming it short, although not usually as short as the original flocking. I think it looks great when finished!

Family Life
We have a brand new baby in the family! No, this is not actually my baby, but my sister's baby - a new little cousin for Connie and Jemima. We are all very excited to meet him and play with him! He is so loved already.

Other Projects
I have been tasked with painting this life-size model thylacine (the extinct Tasmanian tiger) for the local museum. So far I have created a fur texture all over using acrylic texture paste and a comb. Now I am starting to paint over this in layers. It will end up much lighter than this, but I'm starting with the darker shades underneath and adding lighter layers. Here's my progress so far.

Please let me know what type of news items you would like to receive each month  - DIY tips, sales information, stories from buyers and their dolls, a day in the life of a doll crafter etc. I'd really appreciate your feedback!

All the best,

Sonia Singh
