Over the past nine months, we have been crafting a new Innovation Ecosystem, connecting companies’ internal innovation efforts to broader ecosystems in and around the industries of Healthcare, HR, Logistics, Mobility, and Utilities

The cornerstone of our Innovation Ecosystem is a series of Hack Events - B2B hackathons adapted for the purpose of business and technology innovation, and aimed at solving practical, current, specific, high-priority challenges across several industries.

To go online, or not to go online with events?
That is the question!

A year into the pandemic, we see that across most industries there is a clear need for more time to adjust to the uncertainty of the rapidly evolving situation, making it very complicated for companies to invest time and resources into long-term innovation.

Over the past year we’ve experimented with online ideation workshops, online Design Sprints, and even translated our classical hackathon experience fully into an online one.

Though online innovation events can certainly produce useful results, we have come to believe that innovation events require a level of collaborative creativity that online events are, unfortunately, simply unable to deliver.

That is why - with the notable exception of Hack Healthcare - we are postponing our other events to the autumn of 2021, and some to the spring of 2022.

We will communicate the final dates when we are sure they'll be… well, final.

The scope of the events obviously stays the same: so give us a shout if you are interested in bringing a breeze of fresh ideas into one of those industries, or into another one not yet on our list.

But why is Hack Healthcare taking place now?

The pandemic has catalyzed massive change within the healthcare ecosystem.

Overnight, telemedicine (teleconsultations) has gone from being a near-impossible dream to everyday reality. Substantial gaps have been repealed in gathering, processing and using patient data, and inadequacies of the current approach to financing healthcare have become even more apparent.

Across the ecosystem - from hospitals and individual healthcare practitioners to tech and pharma companies - there’s a huge interest in exploring and exploiting these opportunities this change has created.

Want to test out a few of our own fresh ideas?

The COVID-19 crisis got us thinking out of our usual box too, so over the past few months, we have been working on a new set of online tools and services for innovators.

The first of these new tools goes live on March 8. But there are a few more that need more work - and we would love to have your input!
We need five - that’s it, only five - people to help us decide if we are ready to rock and roll.

Curious? Want to give us a hand? Drop our colleague Caterina a quick mail at caterina@hackbelgium.be and she’ll hook you up.

Oh, obviously first come first served :)
