SSMF Large Grant: Start-up grants for young researchers
The Swedish Society for Medical Research (Svenska Sällskapet för Medicinsk Forskning, SSMF) announces a four-year start-up grant to support young researchers working full-time or half-time, half-time grants being intended for clinically-active researchers, as well as a grant to cover operating expenses.
- The start-up support is awarded for two years, with a two-year extension subject to approval of a scientific report.
- The objective is to offer promising young scientists an opportunity to establish themselves as independent researchers.
- The support is aimed at PhDs with post-doctoral qualifications.
- Full-time positions may be combined with a part-time occupation (maximum 20%), such as clinical practice.
The grant includes funds for salary for employment as a researcher or equivalent. For full-time employment, the amount is SEK 800,000 per year.

The Fulbright Hildeman Fellowship
Promoting Scandinavian studies in the U.S.
The primary objectives of the Hildeman Fellowship are to encourage students and faculty in Scandinavian studies, to strengthen contacts between Swedish and American academics and to increase the interest in Sweden and Swedish area studies on the part of American students and scholars in a variety of fields. For academic year 2021-22, the University of California, Berkeley will host the Hildeman Fellow with a focus on immigration, multiculturalism and diversity.

Architecture scholarships with the Helgo Zettervall Foundation

The Swedish Geotechnical Institute – The 2021 Tuffo call
The Swedish Geotechnical Institute (SGI) is an expert agency that works for a safe, efficient and sustainable development and sustainable use of land and natural resources.
SGI:s Tuffo program aims to produce new knowledge that will contribute to an increased pace in the remediation of contaminated sites in Sweden, and enable the fulfilment of the environmental quality objective "a non-toxic environment".
The 2021 Tuffo call is now open, and this year’s focus is innovative solutions for contaminated areas. Applications and evaluation are made in a two-stage process, where Stage 1 includes idea outlines and Stage 2 comprises full applications.
