Originally introduced in 2019, H.R.1 is a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives that would greatly weaken the security and integrity of our election process. The misnamed “For the People Act” proposes a complete takeover of the administration of our elections by the federal government and includes provisions like outlawing state voter ID laws and mandating that states immediately restore voting rights to felons. We must not allow our electoral safeguards to be stripped away.

HB 54 - Repeal the Compact for the National Popular Vote
Tuesday will be a hearing on a bill we support - HB 54 to Repeal the Compact for the National Popular Vote. It is sponsored by Del. Hornberger and will be heard in the W&M Committee. The Compact for the National Popular Vote will require Maryland Electors to vote for the winner of the popular vote in the 13 states in the compact not as the voters of Maryland have voted. If you can, send E-mails to the members of the Ways and Means Committee urging them to support HB 54 and repeal the Compact if you can.

Stop VOTING BY MAIL BILL HB153 and HB 274
Elections by Mail bills HB 153 and HB 274 will have a hearing on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 1:30 p.m. before the House Ways and Means Committee. To submit written or oral testimony you MUST SIGN UP on Friday, Jan. 22 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
This is the Democrat's proposal for holding all future elections with automatically mailed ballots. Please oppose these bills by either sending written and/or oral testimony or encourage your members to send e-mails to the House Ways and Means Committee members opposing these bills.
Also very important to oppose HB 57. which allows Absentee Ballots to be postmarked the day after the election and still be counted.
