Montgomery Planning Wants to Hear from You!

Montgomery County Planning Department, part of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) wants your input to help create a strong future for your business and the downtown Silver Spring community. Montgomery Planning is currently developing a master plan called the Silver Spring Downtown and Adjacent Communities Plan.

This plan will envision the future of Silver Spring for the next 20 years and is an update to the previous plan for this area, completed in 2000. The new plan will address economic development, land use and zoning, housing, parks, transportation, historic preservation, community facilities, the environment and more.  

You and your business are a vital part of downtown Silver Spring. The diversity of businesses in Silver Spring is consistently cited by residents as one of the most attractive features of our community and strengthening that business environment will be an important focus of this plan.  If you are a business owner in the plan area, Planning Staff wants to hear about your experience owning and running a business in downtown Silver Spring!
