17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

2 Corinthians 5:17-20

Louise Weyer
Memorial Service,
Thu, March 11 at 10:30am

Louise Weyer was called home, Saturday, February 27, 2021, after a short time of hospice care at Tranquility WellStar. Louise was the last "private communion call" I made after the COVID-19 restrictions, and she was the first institutional call that I made last week since COVID-19 hit.

Louise was born July 11, 1929, confirmed May 25, 1942, and was a member of Faith Lutheran since July 21, 2013.

If you knew Louise at all, you know she didn't act her physical age. She was a walker in every sense of the term her email address was: hike875@gmail.com. She served as the Financial Secretary and led the tellers at Faith for many years. Only recently, when her health changed rather quickly, did Louise finally step down. She always brought a bright smile to our campus. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for giving Louise life and our joy to know and serve beside her here at Faith. We rejoice that she is now with You and pray that the Gospel's hope will comfort all who mourn her passing in Jesus' name. Amen.

We invite friends to join us on Thursday morning, March 11, at 10:30am, in our worship center for a memorial service (mask optional, social distancing) to rejoice in our God, who claimed her in baptism and chose her life to be His temple.

Pastor Carl Schneider

Hope's Happenings
Events in February:

Participated in the following events so far:
  • Sent notes of caring and prayer to comfort those in need.
Update on Planned activities:
  • Continue to reach out to people with notes of Caring and Prayer with my Team.
  • Continue to go for walks with my Handlers and Team; have to get my exercise in when I can and to keep my skills in tip top shape!
  • Please continue to submit your requests for a Zoom visit via the following methods:
  1. Complete the ‘Hope Comfort Dog Request’ form via this link:https://forms.gle/8oknB7haY7VLGgtE9
When a request is submitted, the information is sent directly to my organizer’s phone.
  2. Call the church office at (770) 973-8877 to set up a visit. Janice Schaag and Susie Glass are excellent sources for getting this information to my group.
  • We hope to reach out to the public by sharing the "Jelly Bean Prayer", a way to witness and share the love of Christ during the Easter season.
Update on one of our avid supporters:
When we were allowed to visit (pre-Covid days) “The Oaks Nursing at Towne Lake”, Marci, Joan, Peter, and I visited this facility on a monthly basis. "Miss Epsie", as she was known there, was always on our list to visit.  She told us that when she was younger and in an accident, she was told that she would not survive.  Then a Golden Retriever came and laid beside her; she was convinced the dog was a life saver.  So, whenever I visited her with my Team, there was an even bigger smile on her face.  She told us how she loved to sing in her daddy's choir when he pastored a Baptist church in Fayette County.  She was an avid artist and was still drawing at the age of 101!  She had a book of her drawings published, and Marci bought one; here's one of her drawings with me.  I was so honored to be included in her publication.

“Miss Epsie” Gilbert left to go home to the Lord on 1/31 at the age of 102.  Knowing her was a true blessing for all of us.

JUST ONE THING

JUST ONE THING - Imagine being a family of five, now imagine going into the cabinets to make dinner and you see nothing. The last few weeks The Brumby Food Pantry's  donations have been slim. Last week each family received a can of tomatoes, grits, canned fruit, canned pinto beans and a head of cabbage. They were expecting 15000 pounds of donated food and only received 8600 pounds. When you are trying to feed 300 Cobb County School families this doesn’t go far. For JUST ONE THING I am challenging all of you to consider helping with food with that JUST ONE THING YOU love. We are looking for anything that can help prepare a meal to feed a family. Below you will see all of the items on sale in the grocery stores that will make your shopping experience super easy!

Mission of the Month

The Mission of the Month for March is the Red Feather Development Group, who work with American Indian nations to develop and implement sustainable solutions to the housing needs within their communities.

They partner with homeowners, community members, and tribal agencies to:

  • Provide training and educational resources to strengthen local resiliency around healthy housing topics.
  • Assemble funding, professionals, volunteers and materials to address each family's most urgently needed home health and safety repairs.
  • Repair and weatherize homes of the most vulnerable members of the communities.
