WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY, MARCH 7
THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT &
COMMUNION SUNDAY
10:00am on Zoom
Focus Scripture: Exodus 20:1-17
The Ten Commandments, do we really understand what they mean? This Sunday, March 7, we continue our Lenten journey of God's Promises, this week focusing on God's promise of guidance in our lives. In our exploration, we will consider how these ten sayings are more than commandments. We examine how these words, God's words, are invitations into a life in covenant with God and one another. For our liberation from all that enslaves us, we are given these words as gifts of guidance for living and communing together. Please join us as we live out and experience God's promises in our worship and fellowship together.
A NOTE ON THE PHOTOGRAPHS (above and below): As the service closes each Sunday during Lent, we will continue to hear the song, "In the Bulb, There is a Flower." We invite you to continue to reflect upon the idea that sometimes God's promises are out of sight yet exist within the bulb, always promising a flower. Join us each week as we walk the Lenten walk, watching God's promised flower bloom.
Please note that the Zoom link to this service will be included in the "Worship from Home" email sent out on Saturday.

LENT AT HOME RESOURCES
We will continue with this year's Lenten theme of God's promises to us this Sunday, March 7, the Third Sunday in Lent. As a reminder, our Lent at Home resource box contains scripture, summaries, and activities that explore these promises. We invite you to join us in worship at 10:00am on Zoom. We encourage you to remain after for fellowship and creation or sharing of the craft/activity included in your resource box. If you are unable to attend the fellowship time, we invite you to explore and create with the materials provided in the Lent at Home resource in your own space and time. The March 7 focus will be the "Promised Guidance."
PROMISED GUIDANCE
Featured Scripture: Exodus, 20:1-17
“And God spoke all these words: I am the LORD your God who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me.”
Exodus 20:1-3
Summary: God gave Moses rules for the people to follow called the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments teach us how to show love for God and how we can live in peace with each other. Let’s thank God for teaching us how to live a great life as God’s children by following the Ten Commandments.
Lent at Home Activity: Make a compass from the paper plate, card stock and brads (shown below) to remind yourself of God’s guidance in our lives.
What to consider this week: See if you identify any points in your week where one or more of the Ten Commandments could influence your decision making.
