Newsletter March 2021

ENCCS continues to offer training and support to academia, industry, and public administration. During the first three months of 2021, we have organized 5 events with partners such as NVIDIACodeRefinery, CSC, BioExcel and more.

Upcoming Training Events

We have planned a busy schedule of training events for the second quarter of 2021. The selected training topics correspond well with the areas identified by our training survey and continuous feedback from users from both academia and industry. We hope these events will provide much-needed training in key HPC and AI topics.

  • 27 April: UAP modeling (ENCCS/HiDALGO)
  • 4-5 May: OpenACC/CUDA training for beginners
  • 6-7 May: VeloxChem Course
  • 20 May: Ophidia training with CMCC 
  • 26 May: SME training: AI for beginners by ENCCS/RISE
  • 1, 8-9 June: OpenMP hackathon (ENCCS/Intel)
  • 15-16 June: OpenMP training (GPU aspects)
  • 18 June: SME Training - A.I. for Beginners (ENCCS/RISE)
  • 28-29 June: Advanced OpenACC/CUDA training

LUMI and Sweden

The online LUMI Roadshow attracted 67 participants from different disciplines in academia as well as public administration and private enterprises. Learn more on how LUMI is going to work with the Swedish HPC infrastructure and details on this transnational endeavor here

Successful Preparatory Access Applications

Our industrial partner Airinnova AB has recently been awarded 50,000 core hours for a Prace Preparatory Type A project on the Hawk system at HLRS in Germany. Learn more about it here.
