Third Sunday of Lent
Live Zoom/Virtual Worship
10AM
The third covenant in this year’s Lenten readings is the central one of Israel’s history: the gift of the law to those God freed from slavery. The commandments begin with the statement that because God alone has freed us from the powers that oppressed us, we are to let nothing else claim first place in our lives. When Jesus throws the merchants out of the temple, he is defending the worship of God alone and rejecting the ways commerce and profit-making can become our gods. The Ten Commandments are essential to our baptismal call: centered first in God’s liberating love, we strive to live out justice and mercy in our communities and the world.
Reading
Exodus 20:1-17
The commandments are given at Sinai
John 2:13-22
The cleansing of the temple
Worship is at the heart of what we do at Redeemer.

In-Person Worship
Redeemer's indoor, in-person worship services at 8:30am Sunday morning continue throughout Lent. You must register to attend, and attendance is capped at 35, for now. All safety precautions carry over from last year - masks are required, social distancing will be enforced, and the congregation will not be singing out loud. The Reopening Redeemer committee will continue to meet regularly to evaluate and adjust. Sign up online here, or call the church office to register.

We will, of course, still have our 10am virtual service on Zoom, but it would be helpful to know ahead of time how many people are planning on attending the in-person service.
