WELCOME TO OUR NEW REGISTRAR
DR. GREG PARKS

Greetings to the members of the Saskatchewan Veterinary Medical Association! Having recently accepted the role of Registrar and CEO I thought I would take this opportunity to provide a brief history of my professional activities….

After graduation from the WVCM I joined a mixed practice in Red Deer, AB where I gained several years of un-anticipated yet enjoyable experience with dairy, beef, and equine patients. My interest in companion animal medicine and surgery then led me to Edmonton where I was fortunate to join a busy and progressive multi-veterinarian clinic to further expand my professional skills. When an opportunity to join the University of Alberta in the field of laboratory animal medicine presented itself, I decided to leave private practice for the academic setting. During this time in my career, I also completed a Master of Public Health in clinical epidemiology. Missing the activities and challenges of companion animal medicine I re-entered the private sector and have since qualified for membership in the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists - Medicine of Cats (UK). Since becoming a veterinarian, I have been actively involved in many professional organizations including the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association where I have contributed to both legislated and non-legislated committee activities in addition to most recently acting as a complaint investigator.

I look forward to serving as the Registrar and CEO of the Saskatchewan Veterinary Medical Association. Until such time that we can meet in person please feel free to contact me via telephone or email to discuss any questions, concerns or even topics of interest you may have.

Dr. Greg Parks DVM MPH MANCVS
