Message from the Division Director

Dear Colleagues,

I must start by acknowledging and condemning the terrible anti-Asian racist incidents that have occurred recently, and by recognizing that these are not isolated incidents. Our division denounces anti-Asian racism in all of its forms, stands in solidarity with the Asian community, and is committed to ongoing work to combat racism and discrimination.

The COVID-19 third wave is upon us, and we should be prepared for another busy period on our COVID units.  But I am optimistic that subsequent widespread vaccination and warmer weather will herald a return to more normal times. So let’s use everything we’ve learned over the past year to provide excellent care to our patients, get through this together, and look forward to better days ahead.

Sincerely,
Moira
Dr. Moira Kapral, Director, Division of General Internal Medicine, University of Toronto

If you have a story idea, please email us. We can provide the support to help you write it or chase the story on our own. We will also continue our elective program where residents spend a month with us and write at least two pieces. Many residents have already published some great pieces.
