Our volunteers are the lifeblood of operations at the New Love Center. In January, 279 volunteers donated a total of 1,125.25 hours. That's the equivalent of $30,606.80 in giving for just one month. Thank you to everyone who gave of their time to serve the men, women, and children who depend on us to help meet their daily needs.

We are now serving an average of 97 meals each day. In spite of the winter snow, ice, and cold temperatures, we still manage to serve at least 60 meals on the worst days, and on better days over 80-120 meals.

We continue to serve delicious and healthy meals our clients enjoy, with almost no fried foods, more fresh fruits and vegetables, more protein foods, less baked goods, and healthier drinks.

To comply with Covid-19 related mandates, everyone must wear a mask and use hand sanitizer upon entering the building. We strive to maintain social distancing between our staff, volunteers, and clients.
We served 1,500 clients this month, 113 of whom were new. In addition to our regular distribution, 53 senior boxes were given out and 133 individuals benefited from our MilitaryShare program. 179 students received food through the Jersey Shore Backpack program. 250 individuals participated in our Renovo Pop-Up Pantry, of whom 38 were new this month.
In the month of January, the Gesinger Fresh Food Farmacy - Jersey Shore Pilot had two distributions: January 8 and January 22. 15 volunteers gave 23.25 hours of their time to help pack boxes and distribute food. We had 20 clients enrolled for the 8th and 17 came for pick-up. On the 22nd, we had 20 clients enrolled and 15 came. In total, we provided fresh food for 21 children, 56 adults, and 22 senior citizens.
Thank you to Pizza2Go for donating 100lbs of mozzarella cheese and frozen cookie dough this month.

Thank you to Gross Butchering of Cogan Station. Through the Pennsylvania Game Commission Second Harvest program we received a donation of 400+ pounds of venison, which we distributed to our clients in January. Hunters donate their deer and David Gross processed them.

Thank you to the Central Pennsylvania Food Pantry for donating 1,000 hams to be used in our cafe and pantry distribution.

The LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. (Gen. 2:9)  “I give every green plant for food.” (Gen. 1:30) And God commanded seven major festivals to commemorate His gracious acts. He is a God of provision, plenty, and joy!

Unfortunately, everyone isn’t blessed with plenty or even enough. Jesus admitted “The poor you will always have with you…”  (Mat. 26:11) So even in favorable economic times, Food Pantries will be necessary. In this COVID time the need is unusually high. So is God’s provision! Volunteers and resources of all kinds have “come out of the woodwork”.  Praise the Lord!!!
