The Green has been the heart of Dover since its founding, home to some of the most prominent names in Delaware history.  This building, one of the few private residences remaining there today, was the long-time home of Vera Gilbride Davis, one of the most colorful political figures of Delaware's 20th century. This March, First State Heritage Park will be marking Women's History Month with reservable walking tours on Fridays and Saturdays as well as online content, including a blog  featuring this groundbreaking lady, remembered widely as the "Grande Dame of Delaware Politics."
