Who we are
Wisconsin Voices for Recovery (WIVFR) is a statewide peer-run movement that brings together people in and seeking recovery, their family members, professionals, and allies.
Our Goals
- Eliminate addiction and recovery stigma through education and increasing public’s personal contact with individuals in recovery and their family members.
- Provide technical assistance in rural areas around development of recovery support services.
- Engage in capacity building efforts in order to support other recovery community organizations and individuals.
- Focus on regional training and education.

Recovery Coach Training
Through a grant from Wisconsin DHS, Wisconsin Voices for Recovery was able to offer the opportunity for people of color and advocates for communities of color to be trained as Recovery Coaches. Completing the February 15th-19th training academy provided all participants the skills needed to guide, mentor and support anyone who would like to enter into or sustain long-term recovery from an addiction to alcohol or other drugs.

Join us on March 24th at 7pm, as Montee Ball hosts another virtual listening session for Wisconsin Voices for Recovery’s-Overdose Data to Action Program. The first listening session, that was held in January, was a success and the team was able to collect data from attendees that has helped Montee construct his upcoming session. We are encouraging community stakeholders of color, and all other community members, to join in on a conversation on how we can continue to support diversity within our recovery community. Please keep a look out for the listening session flyer and event that will be posted on our Facebook page HERE. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
Check out our new Podcast!
WIVFR Outreach Specialist's Jessica Geschke and Montee Ball host the S.O.B.E.R (Stories Of Badgers Empowering Recovery) podcast. This podcast will focus on interviewing members of the community, both locally and nationally, who are in recovery from substance use disorders and those that support a loved one in recovery or active addiction. Other guests will include those that work for an organization providing support for those in recovery, state legislators, and many more! On the last Friday of the month, S.O.B.E.R. will publish an episode that you can listen to on apple podcasts and Spotify. Please feel free to rate us and leave us a review! We hope you like it!
