JERSEY MIKE’S SANDWICH CHAIN INTRODUCES NEW GRILLED PORTABELLA MUSHROOM AND SWISS SUB

Jersey Mike’s Subs is introducing the Grilled Portabella Mushroom and Swiss Sub at its more than 1,900 locations nationwide. The new sub features fresh grilled Portabella mushrooms, green peppers and onions with melted Swiss cheese. The Mushroom Council is partnering with Jersey Mike’s in the product launch, helping to raise awareness of the new mushroom-centric sandwich on the market.

Michael Manzo, COO at Jersey Mike’s Subs, noted, “At Jersey Mike’s, quality is always a priority and our new Portabella Mushroom and Swiss Sub is grilled to order and made with fresh Portabella mushrooms, onions and peppers. It’s important to keep this fresh product locally grown, and it took time to organize mushroom growers across the country. The mushrooms are picked, transported and delivered to our stores within days of coming from the growers.”

Manzo said the new sub brings even more variety to the menu, offering customers a reason to dine at the restaurants more frequently.

The Mushroom Council has helped to educate Jersey Mike’s on the benefits of mushrooms, including how they are one of the most sustainably produced foods and their outstanding nutritional profile. Low in calories, and fat- and cholesterol-free, mushrooms support a healthy immune system with their micronutrients of Vitamin D*, Vitamin B and selenium.

Jersey Mike’s guests can place takeout orders in-store or for pickup through the website or through the Jersey Mike’s app. Additionally, delivery is available in most areas through the Jersey Mike’s app or through third-party delivery partners. Curbside pickup is also available.

MUSHROOM INDUSTRY NEEDED TO JOIN IN PROMOTION OF JERSEY MIKE’S NEW GRILLED PORTABELLA SUB

The Mushroom Council is helping to drive sales of Jersey Mike’s new mushroom sub nationwide, and we need you! Yes, YOU!

Mushroom industry members are encouraged to take a photo of yourself enjoying the new Jersey Mike’s sub.

There’s no right or wrong way to do it!

Here are some ideas:
  • Take a pic of yourself smiling with your tasty sandwich.
  • Pose for a portrait with the in-store signage promoting the new sub.
  • Stand under the Jersey Mike’s sign outside the shop with your to-go bag and give it a big thumb’s up!

(Of course, follow your local guidance for public safety in all of the above scenarios!)

Send us your photos by February 28th so we can kick off this launch with our strong support. We’ll share them on our website and social media and will also share with Jersey Mike’s to show them our commitment.

Also, we would like to promote this meatless option heavily during Lent, a period when so many people give up meat on Fridays or even for the entire period, so your timely photo submissions will be very helpful in seizing this special promotional opportunity.

AND, everyone who sends a photo will be entered into a drawing to win a $50 Jersey Mike’s gift card!

Let’s show the world how proud we are to see mushrooms adding a nutritious, delicious, and sustainable option to menus across the country!

Please send your picture to Cristie Mather at cmather@flmharvest.com or text them to her at 503-705-8404.
