Last fall the College Board launched Real Talk, a virtual college exploration initiative designed to connect Black students and families with admissions representatives from universities across the country. Real Talk is not your traditional college fair. This series is intentionally designed to feel informal, authentic, and, most of all, real. In this virtual environment, we're committed to creating pathways for Black students to meaningfully engage with colleges and universities.

We're thrilled to launch our spring series in partnership with College Board's A Dream Deferred™ Conference. Join us for a special, two-night Real Talk: HBCU Edition on Wednesday, March 3, and Thursday, March 4. Your students will have an opportunity to connect with admissions representatives from the best HBCUs in the country and get questions answered in real time. We'll cover topics such as financial aid, scholarships, academic offerings, career paths, student organizations, Greek life, housing, and more!

All ages and academic achievement levels are welcome. We look forward to connecting with you soon for real talk. RSVP today and share the event with your networks.

Date: Wednesday, March 3, and Thursday, March 4

Time: 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT

It is hard to believe that graduation is approaching in a couple months. It is an exciting time to celebrate all your hard work and dedication over the past twelve years. However, you may be experiencing a lot of mixed emotions as you approach this milestone. It is common to have a combination of positive and negative feelings at the same time. You are approaching a time where you will be given more independence and change in your learning environment. Coming to the realization that you will not be attending classes with your trusted friends can cause some level of anxiety. There are steps you can take to help alleviate your feelings of trepidation about the future.

It is important to stay in the moment and concentrate on finishing your high school career with great grades. Be sure to stay on top of your assignments. This will impress your future college, they do request final transcripts, and keep your mind busy. Remember there are still eight weeks left in the semester to finish strong. Be sure to stay active and get plenty of sleep and exercise. This is a perfect way to release any nervous or sad feelings you are experiencing.

Be sure to register for orientation at your new school. Having your college "to do" list completed will help you feel prepared and provide a level of excitement for this next chapter in your life. Remember to have some fun too. You have made special friendships over the years and you want to enjoy this time while you are still together.

All of us here at SCF Collegiate School Venice are incredibly proud of you and want you to have an amazing remainder of your last semester. Please come see me if you need any support during this time.

Kindly,

Mrs. Tosi
