It's time to detox your liver now

It’s springtime. Writing from a Traditional Chinese Medicinal point of view, that means now is a time of growth and regeneration. Deeply connected to this season is our liver organ.

Hence the best time to give the liver a chance to clean itself is at the start of spring. It does self-clean continously, but cutting down on it’s workload will make it work sort out the whole blood system as well as clear any excess fat that can accumulate. Basically, your liver gets fat before you get fat.

So what can you do to detox? Change your diet first of all. If you already eat healthy, great, but are you eating unsprayed food from a health food shop or your garden? I know not everyone has that option, that’s why I’m offering free advice on how to change your diet for one or two weeks, in order to clear the sludge from your liver, in order to gain energy, lose weight, have deeper sleep, overall be healthier with more resistance to illness.

Onions are good to eat, especially at detox time.

The monthly on-line Qigong course is Tuesdays and Fridays 7 PM to 7.45 and starts 2 March.

Here’s what to change for a week or two, depending on how often you detox. You will feel crappy after a few days, then you will feel gradually better and then really refreshed and energised. Stop eating one type of food at a time if you are new to this, then cut out another food type that may overload your liver after a day or two.

Basically reduce, then stop, eating sugar, alcohol, sweets, coffee, tobacco, biscuits, white bread and red meat. Drink plenty of water, eat really healthy food. You could take an echinacea supplement/drops to help clean out the liver some more. Add more beets into your diet now, they regenerate liver function.

Good luck and let me know how it's going or ask questions for support in your Liver Detox, from Mark.
