With the sun streaming in and the weather warming up, it's easy to get excited for spring: flowers, rainbows, baby birds, and sprouting seeds! The season of rebirth! Reorganization! Getting things done.

We already told you about our company's commitment to making the world a better place, so this season, we're excited to show you how that commitment plays out, in real life.
It starts with our 2021 focus on reducing waste. In January, we made plastic-free purchasing a priority. We switched our handsoap, bought into laundry balls, and decided to adopt, not shop, when it came to furniture, decorations, and computers for reopening our Broadway centre. Zero-Waste Spring: Mar. 1 - May 28, 2021

 Teaching children to care for the world begins with teaching them to about their place in it. Measuring our impacts is the first step to making sure they are positive, and this spring, we're taking a closer look at all the ways we interact with the world.
What we eat, how we move, and the things we make, affect the animals, plants, and world around us. It's all connected, and we have the tools to learn all about it!
The kids at Buddings are still toddlers and preschoolers (18 months to kindergarten), but as the company celebrates our 10th anniversary, we're aware of our wider responsibilities.
To know the world is to love it, so we're getting back out there, with fieldtrips returning in April, and the wide open horizons before us!

Return of the Swap - Mar. 21, 2021

 Our last clothing swap at Storybook, in 2019, was PACKED, with people, clothing, kids, toys, and fun! But it was hectic, crowded, messy, and short-term. There was so much left over at the end!
We can't hold that event in a pandemic, but if Zoom preschool, online orientations, and curbside pickup have taught us anything, there's a lot we used to do that we can do better, with technology.
If you know Buddings, you know we're always looking for innovative ways to help families. We may not be able to bring everyone together in person (yet!), but that shouldn't mean we can't share good quality, usable children's clothes and accessories.
Rather than waiting for things to "go back to normal", by embracing technology, connecting our community is easier than ever!
We're launching 2loops.ca, an online clothing swap, with contactless drop-off and pick-up, and opportunities for everyone to participate, on Mar. 21!
