Dear Canterbury Community,
Despite the government restrictions, 'places of worship' are open and I am able to travel to you to give the services we have planned on the 28th of February
Thank you for considering the necessary precautions we need take such as wearing face masks during and after the services and as little mingling as possible within the small corridors and spaces.
Unfortunately we cannot do children's services at this time because of the close spoken contact with the children and the taking of hands.What I can offer is a kind of 'Family Service', which you may have seen described in the Forest Row update. The children and parents will enter and sit together, like they have been doing when I have told stories. It would be lovely if someone could play some music at the beginning and the end and also, we would need a server to light and extinguish the candles. I will read from the gospel and then tell a story, probably about St.Francis.
Afterwards, I would like to offer you a talk about 'Lazarus and the Path out of Chaos' which will look at our approach to crisis and problems in the light of the experiences of Lazarus (see the gospel of John chapter 11)
Here is our programme for the day;
10am - The Act of Consecration of Man
11am approx - Family Service (all welcome to stay)
11.20am approx - Lazarus and the Path out of Chaos
I look forward to seeing you if you are able to come.
Selina
