Dear <<First Name>>,
Here in the UK we're beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel in the nation's journey through the Covid-19 pandemic. Praise the Lord!

Devotional reading for today

Let prayer spring from a heavenly vision

O God, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You. So I have looked upon You in the sanctuary to see Your power and Your glory.

Psalm 63:1,2 - Amplified Bible

Let's follow the Psalmist's example. Let's take time with God seeing His power and glory. We have a tendency to pray small prayers. The cure for this is first to look upon God in the sanctuary. Catching sight of His power and His glory will seriously and dramatically enlarge your prayers! Earnestly seek the Lord's face and, having looked upon Him, then begin to present your petitions in prayer. Psa.27:8.

The apostle Paul promised his Gospel partners that God would supply their needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Sadly many people's small prayers no where near encompass that. They have not had sight of God's riches in glory. To behold God's glory, you have to approach His throne of grace and wait there is His presence with worship. Those who have boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus are granted an opportunity to see God's riches in glory by Christ Jesus. This stops small prayer and kick starts enlarged prayer. Suddenly you're aware of the immensity of what God is willing and able to do on earth. You pray differently as a result. Your faith bubbles up inside you eager to see visions of good made reality in life. You start to pray Elijah-scale prayers. Jam.5:16-18.

In fellowship with God, let's take up the chance to catch a heavenly vision for our affairs. Let's pray prayers that can initiate things on earth that were first seen in heaven. You may be called a dreamer for following that sort of path in prayer. You'll be in good company. God's prophets and apostles were dreamers who dreamt of what was to be through Jesus Christ. God has big prayers for us to pray - prayers according to His power and glory. Heb.11:6.

You can mirror God's glory in the words of petition of your prayers!
